Unfortunately, Creed III won’t arrive in theaters as previously planned. On the bright side, Michael B. Jordan has the opportunity to add a few more stars to his directorial debut. Just a few days before making his return to Sin City for another major fight, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez was spotted working with Jordan. The star actor turned director and producer shared a photo of the two looking at their footage in awe.
“Directing the legend himself, Canelo, in Creed III. Can’t wait for the world to see it on March 3,” Jordan wrote on Instagram.
Alvarez is far from the only boxer to appear in the Creed series. Previously, Tony Bellew and Andre Ward appeared in the first film. Ward ultimately returned for the second film and Bellew has teased the return of his character, Ricky Conlan, in the third film.
“Michael B. Jordan is directing this third one. All will be revealed soon I would imagine,” he said.
“For now, ‘Pretty’ Ricky Conlan is still in the penitentiary. I’m sure he’ll want to come out and make some noise, being the pound-for-pound king that he was before he got locked up.”
Adding on, former undisputed lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez also teased his acting debut last November. However, it’s unclear what role he’ll play.
“Even when it’s not in my sport, I’m perfecting my craft, and I’m also grinding and hustling to make other moves. Creed III coming out. I’ll be in it,” Lopez told Fight Hub TV.
All will be revealed when Creed III hits theaters in March.
