The 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend is just around the corner and we’re starting to learn more about who will be participating. The All-Star game rosters have been set, barring any injuries, and some of the dunk contest participants have been reported.
Now, we may know at least one of the contestants in the 2017 NBA Three-Point Contest as well:
Portland Trail Blazers guard C.J. McCollum will participate in NBA 3-Point Contest, league sources tell ESPN. Shooting 42 percent from deep.

C.J. McCollum is clearly a great candidate. He is currently shooting 42.1 percent from behind the arc, bagging 120 of them over the course of the season (an average of 2.6 per game). He is currently 11th in the NBA in three-point percentage and 12th in three-point baskets made.
McCollum will likely be the only Portland Trail Blazer represented in New Orleans. Damian Lillard was left off the All-Star team once again and he’s not in the top-20 of three-point percentage leaders, making him an unlikely choice for the event.
But C.J. McCollum has had a fantastic individual season, despite his team’s struggles. He deserves to be in three-point contest and will have a shot (well technically, multiple) to win it.
