Byron Scott Meets With Lakers For A Second Time About Head Coaching Job
The Los Angeles Lakers have been patient in their search for a new head coach since Mike D’Antoni stepped down from the position. Among a list of final candidates, which included Lionel Hollins, Alvin Gentry, Mike Dunleavy Sr. and Kurt Rambis, Byron Scott was initially interviewed. Sources report that Scott has met with the Lakers again today, presuming him to be the favorite as the only coach to land a second interview thus far.
Scott was one of the first coaches pursued and interviewed by the Lakers. He made his thoughts particularly known about how he feels Kobe Bryant would have to adjust to his coaching style, and has also expressed his strong desire for the job. With the NBA Draft coming up on the 26th, not to mention the New York Knicks and Phil Jackson landing Derek Fisher today, the Lakers may be looking to close the deal on who will be their next head coach.
