There is something special about a performer being able to host an event at Madison Square Garden. Over the years, crowds at the historic venue have witnessed Ali-Frazier I, John F. Kennedy’s birthday celebration and the Grammy Awards. While there are a number of larger venues across the globe, there are few places that have a similar cultural significance. As a result, performing in midtown has become an important mark on an entertainer’s resume. Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, Prince and nearly every other great musician has touched the stage at MSG.
With all that has happened at the historic venue, there has always been something missing. No Nigerian artist has ever headlined a show at the venue. Fortunately, that will change in the very near future. This Friday, Burna Boy has announced that he is working with Duke Concept to bring the “One Night In Space” show to the Big Apple on April 28.
While Burna Boy is the first Nigerian artist to headline a show at Madison Square Garden, he is no stranger to large venues. He has graced the stage at London’s O2 Arena, Paris’ Accor Arena, Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome and more venues around the globe. Taking his talents to New York is the next step on his legendary journey.
Tickets for the historic event will go quickly. Fans can begin securing their seats on December 14 at 12 p.m. ET via presale. However, the general sale will not begin until December 17 at 12 p.m. ET.
