The Chicago Bulls have reportedly set their sights on Boise State wing Chandler Hutchison, and according to Aran Smith, the organization promised to take the 22-year-old in the 2018 NBA draft.
Following from NBADraft.Net,
Rumors out of the combine were that Hutchison pulled out of participating in measurements and other activities due to a promise. Our sources indicate that the promise is in fact with the Bulls.
News surfaced last week Hutchison withdrew from draft combine activities, presumably because he received indications from a team that he would be drafted.
Jonathan Givony reported Hutchison dropped out of the combine upon having heard that the Bulls were planning to take him with their 22nd pick.
“Chandler Hutchison has withdrawn from the NBA Combine and canceled all workouts after receiving assurances he’s found a ‘safe landing spot.’ It appears that he has secured a promise from a team drafting in the 20-30 range,” Givony tweeted.
The four-year senior averaged a career-high 20 points per game last season to go along with 7.7 rebounds, and a career-high 3.5 assists.
The latest Def Pen mock draft does not project Hutchison as a first-round pick after earlier projections placed him as the 28th overall pick.
