Buddy Hield and Wayne Selden Jr have been rivals for the last three seasons in the Big 12 conference. Hield, the 2016 Naismith Players of the Year, led his Oklahoma Sooners this season to a Final Four berth while Wayne Selden was a driving force behind the Kansas Jayhawks to an Elite Eight appearance. Now both college stars are testing their luck in the 2016 NBA Draft.
But before the NBA draft comes players have to go through the 2016 NBA Draft Combine. Unlike the trio of stars who announced they wouldn’t even be going to Chicago, Hield and Selden Jr will head to the ‘Windy City’ but they won’t participate in any activities for different reasons.
Following from Shams Charania of The Vertical on Yahoo! Sports.
Kansas junior Wayne Selden will only participate in interviews and medical exams at the NBA draft combine – pulling out of on-court drills – after undergoing a recent procedure for a small meniscus tear in his knee, league sources told The Vertical.
And from Chad Ford of ESPN.
Buddy Hield won't be at Combine on Thur/Fri. Graduating this weekend. Doing interviews, medical & measurements today. But no athletic test

Hield’s stock as a potential top 5 pick should be solidified even if he did participate. His stock is beyond high at this point and not participating won’t hurt his standings. Selden on the other hand is a different story.
He’s a fringe second round prospect and having meniscus surgery isn’t great for his prospects. Still, if he goes to the right team in the right situation, he might be able to flourish like we’ve seen so many players do in the recent past. He will absolutely need to make sure he kills it in the interviews and any possible workouts he might be able to do before the draft.
