Iconic rock singer Bruce Springsteen offered his vocals for the latest Joe Biden campaign ad. “Hometown” features the New Jersey native talking about the drive, determination and grit it takes to get from bottom to the top. In the background, Springsteen’s “My Hometown” accompanies his narration.
“Scranton, Pennsylvania. Here, success isn’t handed down. It’s forged with sweat, grit and determination. This is his hometown,” he said.
Throughout the 60-second ad, Biden can be found talking to voters in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Towards the end of the ad, Biden takes a stop by his childhood home in Scranton.
“In Scranton, good times aren’t promised. But here, and in towns across America times are harder than they ought to be. Lives on pause. Dreams on hold. Futures in doubt,” Springstein added.
“He’s running to change that, to give working people the shot they deserve. An honest living for honest work and a little peace of mind at the end of the day. Because this place stays with him. These streets are part of him. This is more than where he’s from, it’s who he’s for,” Springsteen continues.”
Fittingly, the ad debuted during Saturday night’s matchup between the Ohio State Buckeyes and Penn State Nittany Lions. Unfortunately, Penn State came out on the wrong end of the matchup. On November 3, Biden will look to come out on top. Check out the ad below.
