Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has told the team that he is retiring from coaching. NFL media insider Ian Rapoport was the first to report the news.

Kubiak served as the head coach of the Broncos for only two seasons. Of course, his tenure has to be considered a success following a Super Bowl victory a year ago. The Broncos went 9-7 this season and were eliminated from postseason play.
Health concerns were the main reason for Kubiak’s decision to retire. He suffered a mini-stroke during a game in 2013 with the Texans and missed a game this season due to severe migraines. Kubiak’s family has insisted that he walks away from the game entirely instead of latching on elsewhere as an assistant.
The former Mike Shanahan disciple finishes with a career mark of 82-75 regular season record, a 5-2 postseason mark, and one Super Bowl win.
