Brian Tyree Henry is set to star in Godzilla vs. Kong, the sequel to next year’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He will star opposite Millie Bobby Brown, who will appear in King of the Monsters alongside Kyle Chandler and Vera Farmiga.
Not much is known about the plot except for the obvious showdown between the two monsters. It’s unknown currently who Brian Tyree will play but it will be a sizeable role.
Godzilla vs. Kong will be the fourth film in Legendary’s Monster Universe after Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island, and the forthcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Following the lukewarm response to the first two installments, it seemed like the universe’s future could be in question but Legendary is moving forward with the franchise.
Henry’s breakout role as Paperboi in FX’s Atlanta has translated into an abundance of film roles in the last year. He had memorable parts in Hotel Artemis, White Boy Rick, and will star in the upcoming Child’s Play reboot. He will also be filming season 3 of Atlanta sometime next year.
Julian Dennison will also appear in Godzilla vs. Kong with Henry and Brown. Adam Wingard will direct.
Godzilla vs. Kong will hit theaters May 22, 2020.
