The Philadelphia 76ers recently made some changes to their front office that could shake up the organization for years to come. They brought in decorated executive Jerry Colangelo to be the chairman of basketball operations and he quite possibly could be the man who will take over for current general manager Sam Hinkie.
While the front office is getting a shakeup, there appears to be some stability on the ground floor of the operation. The Philadelphia 76ers will be inking head coach Brett Brown to a two-year contract extension.

Philadelphia 76ers coach Brett Brown has agreed to a two-year contract extension that runs through the end of the 2018-19 season, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
The extension is expected to be announced at a news conference Friday before the Sixers-Detroit Pistons game in Philadelphia.
Negotiations on the extension had started before the front-office shakeup that elevated chairman Jerry Colangelo over president and general manager Sam Hinkie on Monday.
Coach Brown has been the figurehead for the 76ers during their rebuild. He’s been the man to handle the media, the young players and he’s been the constant with all the losing. While he does have a winning percentage of 20.3 as an NBA head coach so far, you can’t really fault him for the losses. He’s doing the best he can with the talent the organization gives him.
Brown is a Gregg Popovich disciple and he knows how to coach. His players do play hard and they try every night but sometimes its just not enough. Hopefully this will be an extension for Brown to see the future development of what could be a successful climax to the ‘process’.
