Former Louisville Metro Police Department Officer Brett Hankinson has been charged with three counts of wanton endangerment in the death of Breonna Taylor. Hankinson is one of six officers connected to the search warrant that was executed on March 13, 2020 in Louisville, Kentucky.
At this time, Hankinson is the only officer facing criminal charges in connection to Taylor’s death. The five other officers are facing an internal investigation related to Taylor’s untimely killing. Reprercussions range from a written reprimand to dismissal from the force.
Hankinson’s is a Class D felony that can carry up to five years in prison. His bail has been set at 15 years in prison.
