The season for the Wizards and Beal hasn’t been the greatest. With the Russell Westbrook trade, they acquired a lot of talent to surround Beal and contend for a playoff spot. In the first month and a half, they had a 13-8 record and were tied with the Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks in the standings. Since, they have gone 11-21 and rank 24th in offensive rating.
Beal has also struggled in his time on the court. After scoring at least 30.0 points per game in the last two seasons, he is down to 23.2 points per game and shooting a career-low average from the three-point line at 30%.
The Wizards were relegated from the play-in tournament positions recently by the Atlanta Hawks and without their best player, it will be tough to get back.
