With Paul Pierce moving on to Los Angeles, Bradley Beal is not at all intimidated by the leadership role he must take with the Wizards from now on. Now, he and John Wall are the veteran leaders on this team, and they are going to have to carry the weight of Washington’s team on their shoulders.
Following From Washington Post.
“John and I, we both have to. We’re thrust into that position, but I think we’re ready for it,” Beal said on Thursday from UNLV’s Cox Pavilion, where he watched the Wizards’ summer league team lose, 97-81, to the New Orleans Pelicans. “We’re capable of leading a team and we’re capable of getting on our teammates. That’s what we’re supposed to do. We’re the two best players on the team. We have to act like it.”
Without Pierce there to take clutch shots at the end of games, Beal has to be ready to take his share and boost up his clutch rating in 2K. In late game situations, Randy Wittman will likely have Wall penetrate the gaps to draw in defenders before kicking the ball out to Beal for a dagger shot.
Beal has spent his first three NBA season around other clutch players who have most often been the ones taking the last shot, but this year, it’s his time to shine. The 2015-2016 season is going to be a breakout year for Beal in which he shows just how talented he has become.
