The offseason in Washington has been very busy with trades, free agent signings, and players leaving, but Bradley Beal is still expecting an improved Wizards team after all of the moves. A good group of veterans is coming in to help bench production while Kelly Oubre, the 15th pick in this year’s draft, adds even more young talent to this team.

“I like them. We have a great group of guys,” Beal said about new acquisitions Gary Neal, Jared Dudley, Alan Anderson and Kelly Oubre in a phone conversation last week. “I think Jared is going to help us out tremendously. Alan is going to help us out. … I’m excited. We still have a great team, still have our core together and it’s just a matter of going out and getting the job done again.”
Paul Pierce may have left DC to join the Clippers in Los Angeles, but as Beal explained, Jared Dudley should be able to fill that gap. Along with Alan Anderson and Gary Neal, a lot of experience has been added to this young core to help them mature and learn more about the game of basketball.
A successful offseason shows just how much the Wizards on the rise and how they are beginning to gain respect from players and other teams around the league. They are right in the mix for the second seed in the Eastern Conference (behind Cleveland) if these newly acquired pieces play their roles.
