Chicago Bulls big man Bobby Portis is expected to miss four-to-six weeks after suffering a sprained MCL in his left knee, the team announced Thursday:
The Chicago Bulls announced today that an MRI has confirmed that forward Bobby Portis sustained a moderate sprain of the MCL of his right knee during the game vs. the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 24. It is estimated he will be out for four-to-six weeks.
The Bulls are also missing Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn and Denzel Valentine to injuries.
Jabari Parker is expected to start in lieu of Portis, according to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune:
“If I start, we had some glimpses in that fourth quarter with me, Justin (Holiday), Zach and those guys,” Parker said. “You have to be prepared.”
In the Bulls’ four games this season, Portis, a starter in each contest, has avergaed 10.5 points and 10 rebounds per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the field and 27.3 percent from deep.
