With the Los Angeles Clippers injury report already crowded with big names that provide valuable contributions, the franchise took another blow today. Star forward Blake Griffin, who has already missed significant time with a sprained MCL, could be looking at another serious injury after suffering an elbow to the head from Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee on Saturday. The blow left Griffin with a trembling right hand as he lay on the ground in pain for quite some time.

As expected after suffering a hit to the head as forceful as that looked, Griffin has been diagnosed with a concussion and will not return against the Warriors. Following from ESPN’s Chris Haynes:

For the Clippers, this is the last thing they want to see after already being decimated by injury so far this season. With Blake Griffin already having been officially diagnosed with a concussion, the star forward will have to go through the NBA’s concussion protocol prior to making a return to the court.
The injury sustained by Griffin looks absolutely terrifying and all we can do is hope that it isn’t as severe as it appeared to be.
