
There isn’t much of our everyday life that hasn’t been tremendously effected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The NBA season has been suspended, music festivals have been cancelled and people have lost their jobs in the midst of this crisis. Similar to other facets of life and business, the film industry has been tremendously impacted by this health crisis. As a result, AMC Theaters are closing and major film festivals have been cancelled. In addition, major movie studios are attempting to adapt to the market. Joining Frozen II and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Birds of Prey will enter the video on demand market earlier than expected.

Birds of Prey will hit video on demand platforms next Tuesday, March 24, 2020 for $19.99. The decision comes shortly after director Cathy Yan tweeted that she wouldn’t be opposed to Birds of Prey entering the VOD market early. “I would not be opposed to putting Birds of Prey on VOD earlier,” she tweeted.
After a month long run in theaters, the Warner Bros. film has earned $84 million in the U.S. and $200 million worldwide.
