Get your air guitars ready everyone because Bill and Ted are back. Well, almost.
Bill and Ted Face the Music may not land in theaters for another year but, according to the film’s official Twitter, production is now underway. Over the weekend, the Twitter account hinted that filming would start this week and Monday, Bill and Ted-heads awoke to some excellent news.
It is time.

Simple, elegant, just the way Bill and Ted like it.
A three-quel in the Bill and Ted franchise has been rumored to be in development for at least two decades but many fans assumed it would never come. Well, that changed earlier this year when Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves took to Twitter to announce the upcoming third film. I think a lot of this has to do with the recent Reeves-aissance, so to speak, but, I’ll take any excuse for more Bill and Ted. (And who knows? Maybe Marvel secretly bought the rights to Bill and Ted so this could be that MCU Keanu role that Kevin Feige’s been praying for. Okay, probably not but, just let me dream.)
Not much is known about the film yet. William Sadler is reprising his role as Death, alongside Reeves and Winters. Anthony Carrigan was recently cast in the film in an unspecified role. However, considering his humorous take on a “bad guy” in Barry, many are expecting him to play Death’s son.
Bill and Ted Face the Music is set to hit theaters on August 21st, 2020.
