Over the weekend, Big Sean celebrated yet another Grammy nomination for his work on “Deep Reverence” with Nipsey Hussle. He also took to Twitter to share some positive news with his hand. The Detroit native let his fans know that his critically-acclaimed Detroit mixtape would be hitting streaming services this Spring. While he did not offer a specific date, he said that he hopes to have it all done in April.
“Next month the Detroit mixtape will be on all streaming services, re-mixed and mastered properly, finally,” he tweeted.
Bringing mixtape cuts to streaming services is becoming a popular trend. Drake brought Soundcloud loosies to streaming services via Care Package. More recently, PartyNextDoor repackaged his COLOURS EP and handed it over to streaming services. Still, fan favorites like Friday Night Lights and More About Nothing remain on DatPiff, YouTube and Soundcloud.
When Detroit does hit streaming services, it will bring together some of Big Sean’s most well-received records like “How It Feel” and “Mula” featuring French Montana. Stay tuned for more details regarding the project’s re-release.
