On Monday, May 27, 2024, “two people familiar with the [Biden campaign’s] strategy” told NBC News that the President’s campaign may become more “aggressive” in its treatment of Donald Trump following the conclusion his “hush money” trial. Regardless of how the trial ends, Biden campaign officials tell the news outlet that they will emphasize the reality that Trump’s legal troubles will not stop him from appearing on the ballot.
“Donald Trump’s legal troubles are not going to keep him out of the White House. Only one thing will do that: voting this November for Joe Biden,” a persona familiar with the Biden campaign told NBC News.
Furthermore, the Biden campaign has reportedly entertained the idea of referring to Trump as a “convicted felon” if he is found guilty in his ongoing “hush money” trial.
“The only way to truly stop Trump is to defeat him once and for all at the ballot box and not expect a conviction to play a huge role,” Democratic strategist Jim Messina told NBC News.
“The campaign’s job is to remind voters why they already voted Trump out and convince them to turn out for Biden by making this a choice between two vastly different candidates.”
As the nation nears Election Day, June may prove to be a pivotal month. Trump is expected to receive a verdict in his “hush money” trial and the two are expected to meet for a debate in Atlanta, Georgia on June 29, 2024 at CNN.
