While many were excited to see Beyonce take the stage at yesterday’s 57th Grammy Awards, some were left confused as she didn’t perform anything from her Grammy award winning, self-titled album. Just as some inferred, Beyonce was looking to help make a positive statement that reflects on the likes of racism and race-related issues that have been prevalent in the in recent media and countless years before. It’s always great when an artist takes an approach to music where a positive statement is made. The addition of a group of African American men to help launch the performance’s meaning into the forefront was surely an exceptional decision.
