Ladies and gentlemen, we may have the next Citizen Kane on our hands. According to Variety, Legendary Entertainment has picked up the film rights for comedian Bert Kreischer’s ‘The Machine’ story.
For the uninitiated, Bert Kreischer got involved with the Russian Mob while studying abroad in college. According to the comedian, while in Russia his group had a security detail of Russian mobsters to protect them. And, being the party animal that Kreischer is, he fell right in with the men who took to calling him ‘The Machine’ for his crazy partying antics. If I try to paraphrase the story anymore I’m going to butcher it so just listen to Kreischer tell it himself:
Just the latest in a line of diverse projects from Legendary, the studio seems intent on casting its net wide. Earlier this year, it was announced that a Land of Oz TV series is in development at Legendary. And we can’t forget about Denis Villeneuve’s epic and star-studded Dune adaptation, which recently began production.
