Otto Porter has been a part of two straight postseasons, but has really only participated in one of them. After a rookie season where he rarely ever received playing time, and basically never played in the playoffs, the Georgetown alumni was called upon in big moments down the stretch.
Being a part of this run along with his closest teammate, Paul Pierce, meant a lot to Porter, and he definitely grew along the way. Finally getting to be an important part of a team competing for a championship helped Otto grow up and prepare for next season. From an emotional standpoint, this experience prepared the Wizards for the future, and gets them ready for another run when next season comes.

“It meant a lot to be a part of something like that,” said Porter, who celebrates his 22nd birthday Wednesday. “For my team to ask me to do a certain thing and being able to do it, that’s what I wanted. I wanted to help the team out any possible way I could.”
Porter is going to be a big part of the Wizards franchise for a long time to come, and the Wizards are going to need for him to keep getting better. When next postseason comes, Washington will likely have a new small forward, assuming Paul Pierce leaves as it is speculated he will, and the new small forward will have to make his own identity to be remembered by.
