Action movie ‘Battleship’ which stars Bajan singer Rihanna, set sail this week opening with a solid $55 million at the foreign box office.
Released in just 26 foreign markets, the film made a huge splash at the Asian box office generating a cool $8 million in Korea alone. Unfortunately, the Peter Berg showing was unable to defeat ‘Titanic 3D’ which generated $55 million in China alone on its way to a weekend gross of $88.2 million.
‘Battleship’, which reportedly cost $211 million to produce, opens in the US on May 18th.
