The Hollywood gods have smiled down on us this week. If you love yourself some pop-culture infused weekend fun, then this Saturday and Sunday may be the best weekend of your life. ‘Avengers: Endgame’ will be releasing over the weekend, suggesting the end to a 21-movie saga that we’ve endured for the past 12 years. On the opposite side, ‘Game of Thrones’ airs on Sunday and I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of endings there.
Even prior to it’s release, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ is stirring up quite the storm in movie theatres. On Monday, AMC theatres announced that they will be adding round-the-clock showtimes over the weekend to meet the demands of the movie, because people CAN NOT wait to see it. Like, they literally can not wait until Tuesday when it is half-off. On top of that, the film has racked up the most amount of pre-sale tickets in the movie theatres history and is estimated to have a $270 million debut domestically and just under $900 million globally.
Those numbers are all based off pre-sale.
‘Avengers: Endgame’ will be the end to a 21-movie saga and the culmination of a story-line that has touched all nerds hearts (including me). After the events of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, the original Avengers band together once again to help bring their friends back to life and to save the world from Thanos. Thanos, on the other hand, is probably somewhere drinking a mimosa listening to ‘Under Pressure’ by Queen.
