Now that the Boston Celtics season has come to an end after an incredibly successful year overall, players and coaches can immediately begin preparing themselves for a bounce-back next season.
For big man Aron Baynes, that means first addressing a broken nose he sustained in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. According to The Athletic’s Jay King, Baynes will undergo surgery for his broken nose.

Obviously, it was unknown to the public that Aron Baynes had sustained a broken nose in the first place, as he was active just two days later for Game 7. A dangerous injury to play with, Baynes was on the court for only 19 minutes and produced 3 points and 5 rebounds.
Baynes was surprisingly an important piece of the Celtics’ success this season, remaining in and out of the starting lineup throughout the campaign. His interior presence was integral to Boston’s rise this season, as he started 67 of 81 games alongside Al Horford in the frontcourt.
Baynes inked a one-year deal with the Celtics last summer after spending his two years prior with the Detroit Pistons. Baynes is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer and the Australian may find a new home if Boston is willing to let the big man walk.
