The streaming wars are in full effect and Apple just made its biggest move yet. At a highly publicized event earlier this afternoon, Apple unveiled its latest advancement. Apple will be launching a new streaming service called Apple TV Plus. According to reports from Polygon, the streaming platform will launch this fall, but does not yet have a price point attached to it. The service will largely be streamed from current Apple products like Apple TV, Macs and iPhones. Later on, the service will be available on several smart TVs, Roku and Amazon Fire Sticks.
Apple TV Plus will largely consist of “original serialized and film content”. In 2018, Apple signed several content deals with likes of Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Brie Larson and many more. In addition to original content, Apple TV Plus will also offer a bundle of twenty five channels for an additional price. CBS All Access, Hulu, HBO and more are reportedly part of the additional networks that can be added on the streaming service.
Apple has yet to reveal a specific price for this streaming platform. Furthermore, Apple has yet to set a specific date to officially debut the platform. More details will be reported as they become available.
