At this point, it’s almost impossible to not have heard about Adele’s comeback in some fashion in the media. Less than a week since her official return to the music scene, Adele is already the talk of the town as she preps the release of her 3rd studio album, 25. With high expectations to live up to due to its predecessor, Adele’s team is working hard to make sure that the awareness of the new LP’s arrival is at new heights ahead of the November 20th release date. Part of their approach is to ensure that upon release, the album is available at as much retailers as possible. While the likes of Target and Walmart are expected, Adele’s team proposed to take things up a notch as they made a proposition to Apple that would see Adele’s 25 sold in their retail stores across the world. Now, according to DailyMail.com, it appears that the request was declined.
This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise as over the past several years Apple has backed the notion of moving towards a digital age where physical copies, in terms of music, movies, books, and others, are simply not needed. On the bright side, Adele and her team surely have nothing to worry about as early projections have her upcoming studio album selling north of 1 million copies in its first week. If 21 is anything to go by, longevity should be the least of her worries. Due out in less than a month, time will only tell if the music and results live up to the hype that surrounds the body of work.
