With new coach Alvin Gentry and a few different pieces in New Orleans for the upcoming season, the Pelicans star, Anthony Davis, likes what he sees with how the franchise is moving forward. Ever since Chris Paul left, they have been situated towards the bottom of the Western Conference, but that seems to be changing.
Davis is already very optimistic about next season and the future that exists with both him and Gentry in New Orleans. They may not be poised to hold a top seed in the postseason, but they will certainly be hanging around and fighting for a playoff berth.
“I just felt comfortable here. I like the team. I like the direction that we’re heading in. I like the guys who are playing by my side,” Davis said Monday. “I have a lot of trust in our organization and what they’re doing.”
After receiving his $145 million contract extension just a few weeks ago, its definitely a hood sign that he is enjoying his time as a Pelican. Nobody would want their highest paid player to want out after giving that player so much of their money.
As long as the Pelicans continue to move forward and keep improving, the future is very bright in New Orleans.
