How fitting for the hometown hero. Anthony Davis played host for the 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend and on Sunday, he ended the festivities with a bang.
Davis scored 52 points in the All-Star Game, basting past Wilt Chamberlain’s former record of 42 and secured the MVP honors.
The Brow put on a show in front of his hometown fans, adding ten rebounds to a multitude of rim-rocking dunks. In fact, all 52 of Davis’ points came from two-point range with no threes or free throws to speak of.
AD showcased his abilities to the world once again and he will now go back to the Pelicans, hoping to lead his team to a playoff berth after a miserable start to the year.
Davis will have more help than before with news coming after the All-Star game that the Pelicans have traded for Kings’ center DeMarcus Cousins. Davis’ abilities, showcased at the All-Star Game, along with Boogie’s well known skills will make for an entertaining and spectacular frontcourt duo to say the least.
But before we can discuss the ramifications of this trade, let’s take Sunday night to appreciate Anthony Davis for the freakishly talented hooper he is. He showed it all at the All-Star Game.
