Andrei Kirilenko certainly has experienced an odd couple of years.
Since joining The Nets last season where the team failed to meet expectations all around he was then traded seven games into the 2014-2015 season to The Philadelphia 76ers. Kirilenko decided to not join the rebuilding 76ers (what veteran would want to) which they decided to finally waive the 12 year veteran. Kirilenko now seeks a return to CSKA Moscow after he clears waivers which clearly a return home makes sense all around for him and his family after receiving minimal interest on the free agent market.
Kirilenko could’ve helped a contending NBA team in my opinion over his career Kirilenko is at 11 points per game and 5 rebounds obviously his better days are behind him at times being injury prone, but he could help provide depth for any team. Kirilenko will now be providing those talents in Russia.
Kirilenko is no stranger to playing overseas and he has been eyeing a return there since December. As soon as he clears waivers I expect him to be signed by Moscow.
