Tom Cruise Breaks Bad in American Made
The new trailer for Tom Cruise’s American Made has just dropped. The synopsis for the film reads as such.
“Barry Seal, a TWA pilot, is recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America and soon finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations in the history of the United States. The operation spawns the birth of the Medellin cartel and almost brings down the Reagan White House.”
Stories from this era are always riveting and when you add in Tom Cruise operating in the gray area they only become more so. One of personal favorite Tom Cruise performances is in Collateral where he was operating with a similar set of ethical standards. If this film is even half as good as Collateral I’d be more than pleased. And from the looks of the trailer, it seems like it has a really good chance to do so. Also, I can’t wait to hear about how they filmed the plane scene at the beginning of the trailer since Cruise is notorious for doing all of his own stunts.
The film is directed by Doug Liman and is due in theaters on September 29th.
