On Monday, May 20, Amber Rose posted a photo of herself donning a black dress as she stood beside former President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania.
“Trump 2024,” the caption reads.
Shortly after the photo was posted, her followers began to flood the comment section with messages of disapproval.
“Are you insane?” one comment reads.
“[Yeah], we need another pandemic [and] more inflation,” another message reads.
After receiving backlash, Rose elected to double down in her support of the former reality show host.
“Y’all think [President Joe] Biden cares about Black [people]?” she asked.
“Sad. Do [your] research. I did. I’ll always put women first. Y’all want biological men in women’s sports. Trump supports the most reasonable compromise on abortion. Stop being brainwashed [because] we’re [people] of color. Make your own decisions.”
Similarly, her follow-up comments also received backlash online from a wide range of people.
“Blacks shouldn’t just vote for Biden. We should be voting against Trump. Recognize,” former NBA star Jalen Rose remarked.
“Why should we care what Amber Rose thinks? She represents emptiness, shallowness, fairness, seeking attention and has zero fiber of an opinion on politics that would shows she’s done any research other than tap dancing for a bag,” lawyer and writer Exavier Pope added.
Rose’s most recent support of the former reality show host differs from past comments she has made about his political endeavors. In 2016, she told US Weekly that she’d move out of the country if he was elected.
“I can’t even think about it,” she told the media outlet.
“I’m moving, I’m out! I can’t. And I am taking my son with me.”
