Utah Jazz shooting guard Alec Burks recently went down with a fractured left ankle. This was bad news for the Jazz, as two of their most important players — Dante Exum and Rudy Gobert — are already out with injuries. Exum for the season, Gobert for around another month.
At this point, Utah’s roster looks barren. They just barely came out with a win last night against the 76ers, and their lack of depth was apparent in that game.
Today, the Jazz finally got some good news. Alec Burks has reportedly chosen to undergo surgery on his ankle, per Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune.

The original timetable for Burks’ return was six weeks, but hopefully he’ll be back even sooner due to the surgery. The Jazz could certainly use the help. Burks has been a great 6th man for them this season, averaging 14.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game off the bench.
