An addictive guitar paints the background as a chorus of ominous vocals floats through the musical canvas. Then, something amazing happens. A commanding voice splashed on to the canvas and boldly states, “Earlier today, I died.” That’s how Grammy-nominated songwriter Aldae kicked off his debut project started and it doesn’t let up for the remaining 18 minutes. Filled with beautifully written, yet darkened stories, ALDAE Vol. 1 showcases Aldae’s ability to mold various genres into sonic paintbrushes that allow him to paint amazing pictures of love, homesickness, friendship, maturity and much more. It’s almost baffling to think that this collection of songs sat on a hard rive for as long as they did.
“There was a voice in my head telling me these songs shouldn’t be sitting on a hard drive. Someone out there might get inspiration from hearing them. I realized I shouldn’t just hang on to the music—it needed to come out,” ALDAE said in a recent press release.
If you’re unfamiliar with ALDAE’s name and debut project, you’re more than likely familiar with his work. Over the years, worked with pop stars like Justin Bieber, Shawn Mendes, Machine Gun Kelly and Selena Gomez. After building a resumé that most dream of, the Texas native is prepared to venture out and build his own career. Does he have what it to takes to make you consistent listener? Check out his debut project below and come to that conclusion yourself.
