The free agency period was a huge success for the Washington Wizards because of the talent they brought in, including Alan Anderson. He is already excited to be a part of what is going on in DC because of their recent success and what they have going on.
Anderson acknowledged the Wizards have been so close for the past two seasons of making it further into the playoffs, which was very evident last season when a Paul Pierce shot was released just seconds after the game ended. If a few things here and there would have gone a bit differently, Washington could have been right there facing Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals.
“You got a great group of guys. They’ve been close. They’re right there. Maybe one or two possessions more, one or two shots more, and I just want to be a part of that. I think they got something special going on. I just want to be a part of it. They showed a lot of interest in me also, so why not be a part of someone that wants you to be a part of something.”
There is no doubt that Anderson will fit right into the Wizards lockerroom mixed with both veterans and young stars. At 32 years old, he is right in the middle, and should have no problem going out and competing with this team night in and night out.
