
Al Horford had one of the best games of his career and topped it off with a game winning lay in with 1.9 seconds left to lead the Hawks in an 82-81 win over the Washington Wizards. Atlanta now leads the series 3-2 with a chance to clinch and move onto the Eastern Conference Finals with a win in Washington on Friday.
Paul Pierce hit a clutch three pointer from the corner with 8.3 seconds left to give the Wizards an 81-80 lead. Following a time out, the Hawks got the ball into the hands of Dennis Shroder who drove to the basket but had his shot blocked by John Wall. Horford then picked up the loose ball and laid it in propelling Atlanta to victory.
Horford finished with 23 points,11 rebounds and five blocks.
John Wall returned to the starting lineup for Washington after sustaining five fractures in his left hand during Game One. Wall finished with 15 points, seven assists, and four rebounds in 37 minutes.
Bradley Beal had another strong post season showing for Washington as he scored 23 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and had four assists.
