Last year The New York Knicks had a very forgettable season and one Carmelo Anthony more than likely wants to erase from his memory for multiple reasons, but one hall of famer came to the defense of the small forward.
Charles Barkley earlier today praised the New York Knicks for the moves they made this off-season after making multiple upgrades this off-season and now he’s coming to the defense of Carmelo Anthony.
"Carmelo is not the reason the Knicks aren't winning, he's the only reason why they're on TNT..I expect them to make the playoffs" Barkley

Barkley came to the defense of the Knicks star, which is good to see since Carmelo has not seen superior talent put around him in his time in New York at least championship caliber talent.
A lot of the talk around the Knicks has been negative for the most part after the off-season was a letdown with the expectations of acquiring a star player in a relatively deep free agent pool.
Charles Barkley went out with a bang by making the prediction that the Knicks will make the playoffs this season which after watching the team last season would be a big jump despite the additions they made. Luckily the Knicks are in a weak Eastern Conference which obviously works in their favor. The addition of Robin Lopez and Arron Afflalo which Barkley brings up will certainly help and Phil Jackson gutted the team of whatever bad seeds he felt needed to go, the Knicks could be on their way to success within the next couple years.
The big factor in all of this will be the rookie Kristaps Porzingis who had an impressive summer league debut which seems to already won some Knicks fans over. Porzingis starts the youth movement for the Knicks and is a pick that if it fails could haunt Phil Jackson for years to come.
