When it comes to Adele’s third studio album, 25, it just may seem that the singer’s most recent success has engulfed us all with a rapid pace. Releasing on November 20th, all in a month’s time before, Adele had not only announced the new album, but she had released a new single and video for ‘Hello,’ and broke records with as little as a simple announcement. Surely being one of the most anticipated albums in recent years, it was more than evident that the public missed Adele’s presence in the realm of the music industry. With expectations set high due to the mega success of her second album, 21, all eyes were on 25 just to see if it could live up to its processor’s potential. Now, the numbers are in and the ‘River Lea’ songstress has blew all her competition out the way as she’s landed the highest first week debut in Nielsen Music history. Selling an astronomical 3.38 million copies, Adele officially breaks the longstanding record of N’SYNC. At this point, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if the singer’s latest record goes on to outsell her diamond-selling LP, 21. All in all, congratulations are definitely in order for Adele as she has perhaps set a new standard that may never be touched.
