The Detroit Pistons have been one of the most active teams this off season and that trend has continued today with the signing of back up Center Aaron Gray. The 7FT Center certainly isn’t a huge signing, but he fills out the bench and won’t be a game changer for Detroit. He’s simply just a body and won’t help The Pistons with anything besides fouls and hopefully being somewhat of a defensive presence while Drummond gets his rest throughout the game.
Detroit’s been very active this off season, but every move has been lack luster for the most part. I can see Van Gundy seeing what he has in his roster for this year of what pieces and parts will fit into his system. Van Gundy probably has an idea of who will work and who won’t, but Detroit has a ton of pieces that don’t compliment each other and have no business being on the same roster together. Joe Dumars left this team a complete mess after his tenure, but with The Pistons new regime led by Stan Van Gundy who has proven to win in the past they should be on the right track. I’m just confused by their off season plan as of right now.
