A Quiet Place Part II (as the tweet reveals) has been kept mostly under wraps since the first film released. Sure, it was planned almost immediately after the first hit theaters and had a release date set within six months. But, we don’t really know much about the plot.
Obviously, we’ll see the Abbott family continue their silent existence as they try to survive. But, otherwise, its almost all just speculation right now. I’d expect to see more people introduced in Part II for sure. Maybe we’ll see some kind of fanaticism over the creatures in a similar way to Birdbox. Bryan Tyree Henry and Cillian Murphy have both been attached to the sequel so hopefully, they’ll be more friend than foe in the silent post-apocalypse.
Hopes are no doubt high at Paramount that Part II can bring in more buzz than the original come Oscar season. Good horror movies usually garner at least a nomination or two for their leads but, A Quiet Place was essentially ignored at the Oscars. It was only nominated for Best Achievement in Sound Editing, which it lost to Bohemian Rhapsody. (Don’t even get me started on the travesty of THAT film winning four Oscars.)
A Quiet Place Part II is set to hit theaters on March 20th, 2020.
