The Philadelphia 76ers will be making a big decision for their franchise as they have the privilege of selecting the #1 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. There’s almost no doubt that the 76ers will end up drafting Louisiana State Forward Ben Simmons, but it looks like that’s not where they’re done. The 76ers also have the 24th and 26th pick in the 1st round which they may be looking to use to move up in into the lottery again.
According to Tom Moore of Calkins Media, the 76ers are looking to move up into the top 8 of the draft:
B Colangelo: ‘We are entertaining discussions about trading 24 and 26 to move up.’ #Sixers

B Colangelo: ”We’re evaluating what might be there in the middle teens (with 24 & 26). We would like to move into top 8.’

B Colangelo: ‘We’ve identified 6 or 7 players we’d like to get. We will get 1 of them.’

The Philadelphia 76ers lack some serious depth in the guard position. Ben Simmons, despite being a person who will dominant possession is not a guard and they need a point guard to help make this 76ers team look even more exciting than it already is. Depending on how far up trade up in the draft, there are some interesting guard options in the early first round, from Kris Dunn to Jaylen Brown or Wade Baldwin. The talent in this draft has the potential to make this a very good draft class in the future, and the 76ers want to get involved because of that.
