Changes are coming for the city of Philadelphia and it’s historic basketball team, the Philadelphia 76ers.
First, they announced a new mascot earlier this year and Franklin the big blue dog was unveiled last week to kick off All-Star week.
Now it seems like the changes are continuing to come in Philadelphia with a video that is teasing the release of a new 76ers uniform for the 2015-16 season.
In a new video sent to only 76ers season-ticket holders on Tuesday, the team made the announcement featuring some iconic 76ers legends to get the video hype up for the fans.
In the 15-second clip, 3 of the greatest members of the Philadelphia 76ers, Wilt Chamberlain, Billy Cunningham, and Julius Erving, are featured with the words, “Three legends become one.”
The video wraps up with the slogan, “New uniform. New look. New Sixers. Fall 2015.”
The future is bright in Philadelphia, this season was expected to be a waste of a season but the future plans by the team might be very scary.
The Sixers hope to have 2 first-round picks in the 2015 NBA Draft, their own pick and the pick they acquired from the Miami Heat, which is top-ten protected. They also plan to have the 2014 No. 3 overall pick, back from injury, Joel Embiid, if he gets his head on straight with the team.
A nucleus of the team centered around Michael Carter-Williams, Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel with more potentially great talent coming in could set up a bright future for 76ers fans.
