It’s been a year and a half since 6lack released his first commercial project, Free 6lack. Since then, 6lack has been slowly building into one of the most talented artists within music across all genres. From a double platinum single to Grammy nominations, 6lack has shown that he is here to stay. This week, Joe Budden premiered his new single, “Switch”, on his podcast. After the first thirty seconds, Joe Budden paused the track and said, “Hold up for a second. That sounds great. That sounds like him.” Joe Budden, Rory and Mal also added, “I f*ck with 6lack. I do too.”
Today, we got the studio version of “Switch” and it sounds as incredible as it did on the podcast. The Atlanta native warns potential significant others not to break his heart. 6lack sings, “If I give you my heart, would you hold that? Would you put it on safe or would you fold that? If I find out you’re cheating, then just know that I’m going to kill you. I hope there isn’t any going back. That’s what she told me. How could I blame her? She’s a small town girl, but now she’s all famous. Maybe, it’s my fault now. It isn’t like I’ve been living in the dark now. I told you everything from the start and you’re the one that had a change of heart. Girl, you can have it after all the damage.”
The release of “Switch” comes a day after he announced that his album is finished. Stay tuned for new music from 6lack and be sure to catch him on the Heartbreak On A Full Moon tour alongside Chris Brown, H.E.R, Rich The Kid and more.
