4 Tips To Make Eye Catching YouTube Intros

  • July 21, 2020

Youtube

Currently, YouTube is the world’s most popular video-sharing platform and a great place to make decent cash. But, unfortunately, not all are able to succeed. The popularity of the platform has caused a saturation of content as millions of users upload new videos every day. All these users have dreams of being YouTube famous one day with their content.
YouTube intros are something most people ignore while creating their YouTube channel.

Others just put their logos and some generic royalty-free music and call it a day. What these people do not realize is that they are missing an opportunity to make a good impression.
Your intro is the first thing that people see when they click on your video. It sets the stage and mood for what the viewer can expect for your video, channel, and brand of content. This is what many people do not understand. If you’re looking for a good video maker, you can easily find some tools and websites on Google.

Here are some tips and tricks that can help your intro stand out from the rest:

Make sure your intro represents you

Your intro is just an extension of your brand and channel. How you try to look when you’re trying to make a good first impression is how you need to treat your intro. You need to keep your brand or channel’s vision in mind while making your intro as it will represent it.
Use colors, music, and animation that suit your style of content and that you like personally. Try to make your intro an extension of yourself rather than something generic. Try to make an identity for your channel using your intro that gives people an idea about you as a person.
Always remember to keep your intro unique. Take inspiration from already established creators but do not copy their ideas for an intro. You need to have your own identity on this platform, and so does your intro.

Always keep it short

To prevent people from hitting the skip forward button, keep your intro short. A short, interesting, and to the point intro won’t be skipped by your fans as well as newcomers. The reason we are saying this is because it is easy to go off the rails when it comes to the intro.
People think their intros need to be lengthy so that they can fit in every ounce of information about their channel. But this is not true. Your intro does not have to be a minute-long essay on what to expect from your content. You can use any YouTube video editor to make an intro but always remember ‘less is more’.

You want to keep some mystery around your channel, which will make people come back for your new content. Remember your intro will be at the start of all your videos. You do not want people to see the same 30-second intro every time you upload something new.

Animation takes it to the next level

Everyone loves a good animation. It is eye-catching, engaging, and fun to watch. There are a number of free and paid online tools and websites that can create custom animations for you. Having an animated intro is a great way of hooking people in. Nobody wants to stare at a static picture of your logo while music plays in the background for 10 seconds.

Having an animated intro will show people that you have put hard work into your videos. It will grab people’s interest at the start of the video. You need to present your logo in a way that people will instantly recognize it when they see it. If you present your logo in an animated fashion, more people will pay attention to it hence remembering it.

Do not keep a generic slide transition for your intro; it is boring. If you keep a static picture of your logo for even 5 seconds, it could feel longer than that to the viewer. Keeping an animated intro keeps things moving, and even a 10 second-long intro won’t feel like much for the viewer.

Keep It Consistent

This does not mean that you should never change your intro. After a few months or even years, you can bring in something new and improved but do not do it every month. People need to associate your brand, logo, and channel to your content, and they can do this by getting used to your intro.

After you begin to gain some traction on the platform, you can see other creator’s intros for inspiration. Once you have enough experience, you can make a new intro and swap the old one out. If you have a loyal number of fans, you can turn it into an event to unveil your new intro. You can even ask your fans for suggestions.
