The Bengals unfortunately continued their historic playoff win drought after choking in the playoffs against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even after a 12-4 season, Cincinnati will remain the league’s most irrelevant team as long as Andy Dalton remains the quarterback. Will the 2016 NFL Draft be the first step towards giving the Bengals their first playoff win since 1993?
The problem when projecting a draft pick to Cincinnati is they might actually have the NFL’s most complete roster. Last year the Bengals drafted two offensive tackles who barely played in Cedric Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher, and the year before they went cornerback heavy. One direction the team could go with is selected a wide receiver. I would personally take Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell over the others but guys such as Will Fuller, Josh Doctson, and Corey Coleman are other potential picks. Losing Marvin Jones and Mohammed Sanu will make the Bengals take a receiver eventually.
Defensively the Bengals could snag a safety after watching Reggie Nelson sign with Oakland. Vonn Bell appears to be the only first round safety. The other would be Karl Joseph but injury concerns likely keep him out of the first round. Another postion to watch is linebacker. Imagine the linebacker core of Rey Mauluga, Vontaze Burfict, and Reggie Rangland! In a division filled with hard nose style of play Ragland seems perfect for the AFC North.
