As expected, on the latest live stream for NBA 2k16 news, Ronnie2k and LD2k talk about MyTeam.
If you don’t know about MyTeam, it is a mode where you obtain players cards: bronze, silver, gold, ruby, emerald, sapphire, onyx, diamond and pink diamond. You piece together your own team using players from any era to compete against the online competition and the various challenges 2k pieces together.
Now Ronnie and LD announce the new colors for cards and the types of cards. This year 2k is introducing Dynamic, Amethyst and Special Moments cards.
There will be five card classes: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Amethyst and Diamond.
Dynamic cards will be cards where players rating will fluctuate everyday based on their real life performances. So if by any chance Mario Chalmers has a MJ-esque game, you’ll see his ratings go up as opposed to him playing his regular game every night. The same goes for LeBron James, if he goes into a bad shooting slump, his ratings will reflect that with the new Dynamic featured card.
Now with the Special Moment’s card, they will represent a specific game in a players career. For instance the exclusive to Special Edition MJ Special Moment’s card represents the first time Michael Jordan stepped on the NBA court back in 1985. Ronnie and LD also used Deandre Jordan as an example, if by any chance he goes a perfect 20/20 from the free-throw line one night, they’ll release a card with a better free-throw percentage for him. They also let it be known that it’ll be hard for superstars to receive a special moment card.
The duo also gave us a little insight on this years Auction House. Users can now auction off all cards in the auction house and yes, that includes those gained through locker codes. Every card in the game aside from the exclusive Michael Jordan Special Moment’s card will hit the auction block.
NBA 2k16 will be releasing on September 29th. You can pre-order and be able to play it September 25th. Also, if you want a special moment Michael Jordan card, pre-order the special edition.
