When it comes to the release of new albums, while the music itself plays a vital role in the success of the album overall, promotion through various means holds to be just as important, if not more. With labels often picking and choosing just how much money they want to put into certain artists, for the creatives who may have already saw their peek in terms of popularity, labels often do not put out as much effort as they could in terms of the promotional campaigns for upcoming albums. R&B singers R. Kelly and August Alsina both find themselves in this predicament as their respective albums, The Buffet & This Thing Called Life, are both due out this Friday, December 11th, and have both seen little to no promotion that would have them appearing across various avenues to generate interests from the buying public. Both taking to social media, R. Kelly and August Alsina both vent their frustrations about their teams due to the lack of support from them in terms of their new bodies of work. On a larger scale, R. Kelly even dived into the realm of how Urban consumers should support just as much as the supporters of mainstream counterparts. August delivered a straight to the point jab at Def Jam that points out just exactly how he feels about the folks that run things over there. In hopes of what could spark off a belief in the greatness of R&B music, check out what the gentlemen had to say, below.
