
Taraji P. Henson, Jeffrey Wright, Garrett Morris and Mara Brock Akil will be honored at the 2024 American Black Film Festival in Miami, Florida on June 12-16, 2024.
Henson and Wright will be the recipients of the festival’s Excellence In Arts Award. Morris, the first Black cast member of Saturday Night Live, will receive the Hollywood Legacy Award. Not to be forgotten, Akil, an esteemed screenwriter and producer, will be honored with the Industry Visionary Award.
In addition, Henson and Wright have an opportunity to win the event’s sought-after Fan Favorite Move of the Year award. The Color Purple, They Cloned Tyrone, American Fiction, The Equalizer III and Origin are all in contention for the award.
“For decades, these esteemed ABFF Honorees have elevated their projects, and brought joy to audiences across the world,” Jeff and Nicole Friday of Nice Crowd said.
