The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has up-ended the NBA’s schedule, resulting in a hiatus of over four months. The NBA’s schedule moving forward has the Finals taking place in October, around the time that the new season typically tips-off.
With the NBA schedule set to take place over a different span of dates next season and given how unlikely it is that fans will be in attendance, the league exploring new options for the 2021 iteration of All-Star Weekend was inevitable. Further, more concrete news is sure to follow as we approach the end of the current season.
